International Publishing Houses
Susan Danziger currently represents international publishing houses, assisting them in their acquisition and licensing of publishing and media rights; negotiating agreements with authors and artists; and working with publishing houses to develop their electronic book programs.
Licensing Agreements: Ms. Danziger negotiates and drafts international
licensing agreements involving both the acquisition of publishing rights and
the licensing of publishing properties for exploitation in various media,
including the licensing of international publishing, television, home video,
film and merchandising rights.
On behalf of Random House, Inc. Ms. Danziger negotiated agreements with
Viacom Consumer Products; Universal Studios Publishing Rights, Inc.; Sesame
Workshop (a/k/a Children's Television Workshop); Spelling Television, Inc.;
Disney Children's Book Group, L.L.C; TriStar/Columbia Pictures Television,
Inc.; Jim Henson Company; Sony Signatures, Inc. and Sony Music
Entertainment, Inc.
Author and Artist Agreements: Ms. Danziger negotiates publishing agreements with international authors and artists for both individual titles and book series. Ms. Danziger has redrafted form author and artist agreements for major publishing houses and has negotiated such author/artist agreements as those with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, L.L.P.
Electronic Books: Ms. Danziger works with publishing houses in their acquisition and licensing of electronic book rights. Ms. Danziger previously contributed to Random House's electronic book program by spearheading a project to digitize thousands of titles from the company's backlist. She worked to set up both internal and external processes, negotiating with outside vendors and working with the individual imprints in their selection of titles for digital conversion.
